2.1 Groups

Groups allow you to start servers automatically. A group can be defined as a preconfigured Minecraft server. The configuration includes a template file containing your plugins and additional settings such as a specific Java version, server software, and a maximum or minimum RAM capacity. Multiple servers can be created from a single group.

How groups in a cluster work

All your groups and their configuration are centralized and stored in your backend's database. Updates are shared in real time.

Each node has its own templates directory. When all the template files that a group requires are present in this directory, the node is responsible for the group. When a new server of a group needs to be started, the backend selects the node that has the templates files and is the least busy. Therefore, you can choose whether you want a single node to be responsible for a group or if you want to share the group’s server across multiple nodes. But keep in min: if you have a group spread across multiple nodes, you must keep both template files updated.
